Redreaming of kinship with our fellow creatures 
as uncles and cows

Animal Being is an investigation that takes a closer look at our connection with other animals, in relation to human development and growth. 
Animal Being drops into the conversation and the experience between the human and animal world, and again deeper into the struggles for freedom, ethical surrealities and surges of wild vitality. 

Animal Being, a performance, envelops us in these odd, often invisible dramas with humour, reminiscence and the gentle question: might there be other ways?

La Famiglia – I know I put it somewhere (2016)

In her solo work La Famiglia – I know I put it somewhere Jonna Lehto dives into the multiple effects, moods and meanings of family and nearness.
How we are linked and tied to each other, how we communicate and express ourselves inside this small but big unit, what is the sense of separation that occurs in oneself as an outsider in the family, how do we see the world through the values absorbed in the family. Or do we break those habits and values?
The performance is a collaboration with artist Ragnheiður Maísól Sturludóttir and costume designer Moa Larsdotter Persson. In her work, Lehto combines contemporary dance, clownery and object theatre.

Pulla Kuuppanen (2014)

Pulla Kuuppanen – Dancing character adventures in the world of whims, dreaming and longing. Performed in Loikka dance film festival and Vaippakansan karnevaali (Carnival for diaper people), Helsinki. 2014.

Silent short film

Vieras (2009)

The solo work Vieras was about a guest or a stranger looking for a place and about what moves when you break away from what you know. Jonna Lehto was adventuring with the sculptures of visual artist Marianne Laiti as a landless and a detached creature. Performed in Voipaala Art Centre, Sääksmäki and Naisen Tila festival, Kemi Art Museum, 2009.

Frankly Speaking (2007)

Frankly Speaking was a solo performance combining melodrama, buffoon and dance about manners, behaviours, atmospheres, nature of one with different
dimensions. And about a roleplay as a woman.
Performed in Live Journal, Finnish-Russian ArtHappening, St.Petersburg, Russia. 2007.

Mykkäkoulu (2005)

Mykkäkoulu was a performance about changing faces and body image. How events affect a person, sting and bite. Diploma work in North Karelia College of Further Education, New dance department, Outokumpu, Finland.
